Scott Mason - Owner/Driver

Scott, a second generation drag racer, has been involved in drag racing his entire life. Scott started his driving career at the wheel of a rear engine top fuel car at the age of twenty. He has also driven and tuned injected alcohol and nitro burning dragsters. He formed the Sudden Impact Team in 2002 after acting as co-Crew Chief with his father Lyle on a leading nostalgia top fuel car. Scott has worked in the auto body industry for twenty-five years.

Lyle Mason - Owner/Co-Crew Chief

Lyle, also known as "The Thrasher", has been drag racing for over fourty years. His experience includes owning and/or tuning nostalgia top fuel dragsters, contemporary top fuel dragsters, nitro funny cars, injected dragsters, and roadsters. Lyle is a talented machinist with over fourty years of experience.

Bill Taft - Co-Crew Chief

Bill, another second generation drag racer, helps on the top end of the engine as well as providing input on the tune-up. Bill is an engineer in the medical device industry.

Boyd Abercrombie- Top End Specialist

Mike Mason - Bottom End Specialist

Mike, Scott's son, an aspiring rock star, is a bottom end guy on race weekends. With the race car shop being the garage at home, Mike gets the pleasure of performing all of the between race maintenance tasks that nobody else wants to do.

Jesse McDaniel - Bottom End Specialist

Jesse works on the bottom end of the engine along side Mike. Jesse leads the team in several statistical categories including, beer drinking and comic relief. Jesse is also an excellent body and fender man.

Tyler Hover

Tyler is a relative newcomer to drag racing. He helps with between round clutch maintenance and wherever extra help is needed. Tyler is currently studying to be a pilot.

Holly Mason - Co-Owner

Holly, Scott's wife, is the official team photographer in addition to helping out on the car.

Donie Mason - Co-Owner

Lyle's wife Donie is the head cheerleader and helps out on and off the track.

Cathy Perry - Team Manager

Cathy helps out with travel arrangements and other details that keeps the team organized and ready to go.
